To create a group, you will need to click on the "Groups" tab and then on "Create group" (if you don't have any groups yet) or on "+ Add group", on the top left corner of the screen (if you already have groups in your profile).
A window will open where you will find the instructions you need to follow to complete the creation of the group. First, you will have to choose a name for the group. There cannot be two groups with the same name on the platform, so avoid names that are too generic. You will also be able to add a description for the group and to upload a group image by clicking on the pencil icon. We recommend that you click the switch to activate the group code as you will need it later to share it with your students.
After clicking on "Continue", you will have to add members to the new group. Only the students who are on your users list because they already belong to another of your groups will appear here. If you have a lot of students, you will be able to search and filter them. If you don't have any students who are part of a group yet, they will not appear here. In that case, just click on "Continue" and continue creating the group even if it only has you as a member at the moment.
Finally, you will be able to add the textbook or textbooks you are going to work with to the group. If you have access to the full library, you can use the search bar and the "Sort by" option to locate them more easily. Adding a textbook to the group doesn't automatically give the students access to its contents. Each one will have to activate the contents of the digital book from their own account in order to be able to access it.
After clicking on "Continue", you will see a summary of the group information. Click on "Create" to complete the process or on "Back" if you wish to modify any of the parameters.
You will then see a screen confirming that the new group was created correctly. By clicking on the clipboard icon, you will be able to copy the group code and share it with your students. The group code will still be available afterwards in the "Groups" tab.
