How are assignment scores calculated?

On the platform, scores are expressed as a percentage (0-100). This percentage is calculated by dividing the points obtained in an activity (generally each correct answer is worth one point) by the total of points available for that activity. The total percentage for an assignment is calculated by dividing the total of points obtained in all the activities that are part of the assignment by the total of points available for all activities.

We can see this with an example:

In the first activity of this assignment, the student obtained 17 correct answers out of 27 possible, so the percentage is 17/2/ x 100 = 63%. In the second activity, the student obtained 7 correct answers out of 8 possible, so the percentage is 7/8 x 100 = 88%.

The average score is not the arithmetic mean of the two scores (63 + 88/2 = 76%), but is calculated by adding all the points obtained in the activities (17 + 7 = 24) and dividing them by the total of points possible (27 + 8 = 35): 24/35 x 100 = 69%.
